A Seed has all the knowledge of a big tree!!

A plant from seed

I often wonder about the intellect that stays inside a seed, a small seed carries all the intellect and material that is required to grow a big tree. Let us look at what is required for a tree to grow, you have to first pick best quality seeds and then sow them in the right type of soil, choose a good weather for it to survive, water it at appropriate timings and give necessary nutrients for it to grow. That one seed will then be able to grow into a huge tree and give 1000’s of seeds. When you sow the seed and start watering for the first few days, you cannot see anything happening with your naked eye, suddenly in few days you see a small leaf or shoot that comes up and that tells you that the seed survived, all these days seed is building its own root system underneath for it to survive and you are unable to see it with your naked eye, if you are impatient and want to find out what is happening inside and dig the soil to see what is happening to the seed, you would have destroyed the root system that is developing thus making it difficult for the tree to survive

The same phenomenon happens inside the womb of a mother for a child to grow and survive. What are the factors to be considered for a successful growth and development of a child

  1. Rutu: Timing must be appropriate, female must be in a period conceivable for conception, female must be ovulating at that time. Some things to observe are female will be slightly emaciated, she will have a calm face, there will be some pulsation in the pelvis and breast. It is also important that both the partners are emotionally involved. age suitable to conceive for women is 16 years and for men–20 years. This age ensures appropriate maturity of dhatus/tissues and thus gives a possibility for birth of a healthy and strong child
  2. Kshetra: Garbhashaya or uterus is the place where the growth of fetus happens and it is necessary to keep it free of toxins
    1. Ensure proper Rajaswala Paricharya (rules during menstruation) is followed
      1. Eat food that is light and that is not salty, pungent or spicy ex: Barley and milk porridge
      2. Do not overexert in the form of exercise or daily chores
      3. Do not sleep during the day
      4. Take enough rest
      5. No intercourse during the menstruation period
    2. Examine the type of flow during menstrual period and address any abnormalities–ideal qualities of both ovum and semen are listed by the acharyas
  3. Ambu: The amniotic fluid surrounding the fetus must be of appropriate quality, this amniotic fluid’s quality is determined by type of food the mother eats–imagine if the child swims in fluid that is spicy or salty–it is obvious that they might develop a skin condition after birth
  4. Beeja: Selecting a proper seed is very important, age suitable to conceive for women is 16 years and for men–20 years. This age ensures appropriate maturity of dhatus/tissues and thus gives a possibility for birth of a healthy and strong child

Regimen to be followed after successful conception

  1. Vyayama must be avoided–no exercise at all
  2. Stay away from carrying heavy weights
  3. Avoid Grief, Anger, Fear, stress
  4. Do not suppress your desires and cravings
  5. Intercourse is not recommended
  6. Eat Pathya food only
