Panchakarma Treatment- A Holistic Approach towards Wellness.

Panchakarma treatment in Bay Area is a time-honored Ayurvedic healing practice that goes far beyond surface-level detox. It’s not a pleasure therapy or a spa-like experience—it’s a profound cleansing and rejuvenation process for the body, mind, and consciousness. Rooted in over 3,000 years of ancient Indian wisdom, Panchakarma works by identifying and correcting imbalances in the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—that govern your health.

At Ayurhitam, we offer Panchakarma treatment in Bay Area with a deeply personalized approach. The goal is to restore balance to your vital energies, improve overall wellness, and address the root causes of imbalance rather than just the symptoms.

This intensive Ayurvedic treatment usually spans 8 to 10 days. However, it is not suitable for everyone.

Not every individual needs to undergo such deep detoxification. Whether or not Panchakarma will benefit you—and if toxin removal is necessary for your healing—must be carefully determined through a one-on-one consultation with your Ayurvedic practitioner.

How is Panchakarma Treatment at Ayurhitam Done?

Panchakarma translates to “five actions” or “five treatments,” expertly designed to cleanse the body of toxins (ama), which are the root cause of diseases and discomfort. The treatment involves three distinct phases:

Treatment Phases of Panchakarma:

⦁ Purva Karma (Preparation Phase):

The body is prepared to dislodge toxins through methods like oil massage, steam baths, and consumption of medicated ghee.

⦁ Pradhan Karma (Treatment Phase):

This phase includes five main procedures:

  • Vamana (Therapeutic Vomiting)[not permitted in the United States]: Cleanses Kapha-related toxins for conditions like bronchitis and chronic asthma. However, this treatment is not permitted in the United States.
  •  Virechana (Purgation): Targets Pitta imbalances with treatments like Basti (enema), Nasya (nasal administration), and Raktamokshana (bloodletting).
  • Basti (Enema Therapy): Removes Vata-related toxins using herbal decoctions or medicated oils.
  • Nasya (Nasal Administration): Clears toxins from the head region, alleviating sinusitis, migraines, and respiratory issues.
  • Raktamokshana (Bloodletting): Purifies the blood to treat skin disorders and circulatory issues.
⦁ Paschat Karma (Post-Treatment Phase):

Involves dietary control, lifestyle adjustments, and medicinal intake to restore digestive power and maintain long-term benefits.
